Circular Saws

I'm a regular (private) DIY'er and have been through some power tools in my time. That said, I've only owned one circular saw - embarrasingly a cheapie for a 'quick' job, but took longer trying to get the thing to cut the thinnest wood so reverted to hand-saw to save time!

With bad early experiences with portable power tools I resigned myself never to be so brash and stupid in my purchasing decisions again... until my partner gifted me a Makita battery power drill. Now I will be honest here as I had mentioned a number of highly-complimentary reviews of this and Makita tools in general. What particularly caught my eye was that Makita had taken the leap forward to Lithium Ion battery technology, promising to deliver improved power and capacity in their portable tools.

ive had some other,circuilar saws before but this one is exceptional.light wieght and nice grip,more control over cutting,.it surely is one of the best saws.

I bought this Makita circular saw from the seller Pro Tool in good faith. It arrived but in a crummy unmarked cardboard box. I unpacked it to realise that there was no Makita carry case, no battery and no charger. Needless to say I can't use or review the product but can at least warn other buyers that the seller has effectively conned / mis-sold me the saw. I say this as a buyer who viewed the photos of the saw in various guises in the sellers advertisement. One pic clearly shows it with a battery and there is no message to say to any potential buyer that by the way the other components you will need to use this saw will be missing from the sale!

If I buy a car I expect it to have wheels and an engine so that its drivable, so if I buy a power tool as I have done many times then I expect it to be able to power it and use it!!! I have registered by complaint with the seller and hopefully common sense will prevail and I will be sent the missing parts so that I do not have to... Read more
